The Model 5422A-02 Dante Intercom Audio Engine provides two groups of 32 Dante input and output channels. It can be used with Dante compatible products such as Studio Technologies’ line of 1, 2, and 4-channel intercom beltpacks as part of a cost-effective, flexible solution for creating party-line (PL) intercom circuits. The unit requires only power and Ethernet network connections to provide a powerful resource for a variety of Dante applications in post-production studios, mobile broadcast facilities, educational or commercial theater, and entertainment. The Model 5422A-02 is also useful in other general audio and broadcast-related mixing, IFB, and interfacing applications.

The Model 5422A-02 is AES67 compliant and provides three Gigabit Ethernet network interfaces, two for support of redundant Dante operation, and the third for accessing the management menu system. Support for the Dante Domain Manager™ (DDM) software application is also provided. Configuration of the unit’s Dante, audio, and networking performance is made quick and flexible via an integral web server.

Each of the Model 5433A-02’s 32-channel audio engines can be configured into multiple groups with as few as 4 channels up to all 32 available channels. The group size dictates how many devices can be part of any single party-line and how many channels are affected by changes in that group’s processing settings. There are ten choices for group configurations with the default setting being four 8-channel groups.
