Celebrating Milab’s 75th anniversary, the DC-196 Platinum Edition is offered with a striking Neptune Blue Nextel® finish. This compact and versatile microphone features three different polar patterns, low self-noise, extremely smooth off-axis response, and superior SPL handling.

Built around Milab’s 2900 large-diaphragm rectangular capsule, the DC-196 is exceptional for transient-rich sources like acoustic instruments and excels in recording situations requiring a smooth off-axis response such as string ensembles and choirs, but also in stereo setups like X/Y and Blumlein where large-diaphragm mics are usually avoided.
