Auralex 2MF24 6-Pack of 2" x 2ft x 4ft Mineral Fiber Acoustic Insulation Panels

The 2MF24 from Auralex is a 6-pack of 2" x 24" x 48" Mineral Fiber Panels for use in acoustic treatment of a room (or more) during construction.

The best way to tighten up a room's sound and make it more soundproof in the process is to design it right, build it tight, and make the partitions as dense as possible. That's where Auralex's specialized Mineral Fiber sound insulation comes in. It's WAY more dense than "the pink stuff" and is specifically designed for acoustical use. Auralex has found that it yields much better bass trapping, overall absorption, thermal characteristics, moisture absorption, and sound transmission loss (isolation) than any other product they know of.

Mineral Fiber Insulation

Provides superior acoustic performance with an NRC of 1.00 (2") and 1.05 (4"). It has a thermal performance based upon an R-Value of 4.20 (per inch of thickness). With 8 pounds per cubic foot (PCF) nominal density, Auralex Mineral Fiber panels are preferred in wall, ceiling, and floor construction for reduction of sound transmission when compared to most standard thermal fiberglass insulation. Mineral Fiber is most effective when used in concert with RC-8 Resilient Channel and SheetBlok Sound Barrier (wall and ceiling isolation), or U-Boat Floor Floaters and SheetBlok Sound Barrier (floor isolation).

While many Auralex products are fire retardant and/or self extinguishing to varying extents, we cannot guarantee that any product meets the specific building code regulations in your area as regulations widely vary from place to place. Check with your local fire marshal or building inspector for approval prior to purchasing or installing any of the Auralex products. Neither Auralex nor Full Compass will be held liable for property damage or injuries caused by misuse of Auralex products.

If your installation is a commercial application we recommend that you only consider those products that have a documented fire rating meeting a specific standard. Since local fire codes are not harmonized and are not applied in a uniform manner by local inspectors there is no guarantee of passing inspection.
