This lens has ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) glass. It is an optical glass developed by Nikon that is used with normal optical glass in telephoto lenses to obtain optimum correction of chromatic aberrations.

The Fluorine Coat is designed to repel dust, water droplets, grease, and dirt, ensuring easy removal when on the lens surface. This coating can withstand the high frequency of lens surface wiping.

The Nano Crystal Coat anti-reflective coating developed by Nikon that virtually eliminates ghost effects caused by red light.
