An automated filter cleaning system removes dust at 100-hour intervals keeping the air intake clear for optimal cooling, and the light source is sealed to prevent dust accumulation and reduced brightness.

The VPL-FHZ85 is a WUXGA projector, but it offers 4K60P input to display images with quality close-to-true 4K resolution. Thanks to Sony's Reality Creation processing, 4K content appears crisp with an enhanced feeling of visual depth. 4K60P input capability also makes it possible to split the 4K signal to drive auxiliary displays with no conversion necessary.

The projector's flat top allows for unobtrusive ceiling mounting while Sony's class-leading lens-shift overcomes the challenges sometimes encountered with installation around other AV equipment and ceiling obstacles.
