Product Overview

DPA's selection of microphones for drum kits has been carefully designed to provide sound engineers with complete control over the final sound. They capture the clear, true sound of the entire drum kit, providing engineers with a clear starting point from which to shape the sound for their needs. With these microphones, sound engineers can precisely place them to prevent artefacts, bleed and other shadowing effects.

DPA 2012

The 2012 is a highly versatile microphone that excels in covering a wide range of close-miking needs on the live stage. This robust and reliable condenser microphone is ideal for single instrument pickup, particularly for instruments in the high-frequency range. It features a superior transient response that outperforms any dynamic microphone, enabling it to capture even the most delicate sounds with remarkable accuracy. The 2012 is engineered to handle both extremely high SPLs and very delicate sounds. With a max SPL, peak before clipping of 156 dB, this microphone is suitable for many different instruments - drums, guitars, horns, and more.

DPA 2015

The 2015 boasts a wide cardioid capsule with DPA's renowned flat off-axis response, giving the flexibility of high gain-before-feedback and effectively managing bleed from other instruments at close proximity. This microphone picks up off-axis sounds in a natural and attenuated manner. The 2015 can be positioned closer to the drum kit than traditional overhead microphones, minimizing bleed from the stage while still capturing even sound across the entire drum kit.

Constructed to withstand rough handling in live sound applications, the 2015 features a thicker, more robust body construction made of brass (known for its corrosion resistance and tolerance against metal fatigue). The mic handle and grille surfaces are also treated with a protective black chrome finish, ensuring your equipment ages gracefully for its entire lifespan.

DPA 4055

The 4055 Microphone captures the power and true sound of the kick drum whether placed inside or outside the drum. Unlike other kick drum mics that are pre-tailored to fit specific genres, the 4055 allows engineers to shape the sound according to their desire. Its low frequency response and dynamics result in a tight, natural, well-defined sound with the best low-end and detailed mids and highs.

DPA 4099

The 4099 is meticulously engineered to capture the booming sounds of drums and percussion instruments. It can be easily fitted to various types of drums, and especially shines on snare, toms and hi-hats. The microphone features a flexible gooseneck that can be positioned at different angles to allow for a variety of sound nuances. It is elegant, lightweight and unobtrusive, designed to stay out of the way during performances.
