Capture the true sound of acoustic instruments from drums to mandolins with the DPA 4099. The 4099-DC-1-101-MS is designed to handle high SPL (sound pressure levels) and is ideal for close miking of most instruments.
The mic comes with a mic stand adapter that accommodates both 3/8" and 5/8" threads and allows the 4099 to be oriented vertically or horizontally. Stand mounting outside of the instrument captures a more natural sound than pickups mounted inside, and you can alter the placement to achieve the desired tone. The 4099's supercardioid pickup pattern places the focus on the instrument by rejecting sound originating from the back and sides, enabling high gain before feedback.
The 4099 is also IP58 certified for water resistance and the microphone's amplifier is hermetically sealed, allowing the mic to be used outdoors with confidence.
