The 5254 diode bridge compressor pushes the envelope while honoring the past by delivering classic compression tone with enhanced flexibility for today's production needs. Based on the iconic 2254 limiter/compressor, the 5254 retains the punchy, larger-than-life tone of its older sibling while giving you the benefit of hindsight and redesign for greater control and accuracy. A unified timing control allows custom shaping of your compression envelope post ratio and threshold for a wider range of responses than vintage units. And since tone matters, Rupert Neve designed custom transformers and Class-A line amps for improved headroom and precision. The 5254 also has an enhanced full-wave sidechain circuit providing much more accuracy than the previous design. Stereo linking allows the compressor to operate in dual-mono or stereo configurations, and recall is simplified and accurate thanks to 31-position detented rotary controls across the entire panel.
