Lowell PR8-1624 Mounting Ring for 8" Speaker, Steel, Screw Mount

The Lowell mounting ring (model PR8-1624) are engineered for the recessed installation of an 8" speaker-grille assembly into a ceiling or wall. Cost-effective and lightweight mounting accessories are ideal for applications where ceiling or wall depth does not permit the use of a protective backbox or where a backbox is not desired. The mounting ring has the same 1/2" lip extension as the Lowell Series CP8 backboxes that are engineered to extend out from the rough-in ceiling or wall for flush drywall or panel finishing. As with all projects, speaker installation should be performed per local building codes and regulations - many of which require a backbox for speaker installation.

The mounting ring features the same 22-gauge steel mounting ring with extended lip as the PR8 model with the addition of side mounting extension panels or "ears" for nailing the mounting ring to 16" or 24" wide studs. This versatile mounting ring is a great "on-hand inventory" item for contractors. The dual width extension panels and the extended lip for easy drywall finishing make this a popular mounting ring. The lip is a 1/2" deep flange equipped with 8-32 screw retaining clips for mounting an 8" speaker with grille.
