Product Overview

The MD-HX represents a breakthrough in video signal conversion technology, offering unprecedented flexibility and ease of use for professionals who need reliable signal management in dynamic broadcasting or production environments. Unlike previous generations of converters that required complex computer interfaces or frustrating hardware configurations, the MD-HX integrates an intuitive LCD and button control system that democratizes access to advanced signal processing features. At its core, the converter leverages the same sophisticated Down Up Cross Converter technology found in the award-winning MD-DUCC, enabling users to easily scale and transform video signals between different standards with remarkable precision. Its impressive four (3G/HD/SD)-SDI outputs effectively transform the device into a powerful distribution amplifier, while providing audio signal routing flexibility that allows users to customize output configurations to match their specific technical requirements. By eliminating the need for external computers and simplifying complex signal management tasks, the MD-HX allows video professionals to adapt and respond to rapidly changing production environments quickly and reliably.

New, easy to use LCD display?! You are kidding... right? Well the LCD display works well when new. Over time the LCD display will become difficult to read. A known issue that Decimator will not acknowledge or resolve. I'll stick with other manufacturers who don't design in product failure. Oh, wait, when the LCD display is all but useless you can always bring a laptop with you to make adjustments!

Seems to be the go-to device these days for scaling into things like a Blackmagic switcher. Handles anything we throw at it. Take a minute to get to know the menu system though, we were confused at first because it was not scaling the output. You must tell the DUC (down/up converter) which input to use, and then tell the output to come from the scaler. (Not sure why they call it DUC in one place and Scaler in another, but seem to be same thing.) As soon as we did that it worked perfectly.
