Building upon the original BD600, Eventide's BD600+ profanity delay further enhances delay protection, fidelity, still maintaining the convenient user interface as well as the familiar yellow DUMP button – a necessity for all radio engineers. The BD600+ continues the Eventide tradition of more than 30 years of designing and manufacturing highly reliable delays for broadcast. Providing 80 seconds of delay, 24-bit digital and analog I/O, plus an array of new features, the BD600+ brings forth the new world standard.
Offering an unprecedented 80 seconds of the highest quality revenue and license-protecting delay - twice as much as other comparable delays, with the BD600+ you have the capability to customize the delay buffer length from 4 seconds on up to the full 80 seconds. The Dump function can be customized in ½-second increments up to 10 seconds. Whenever the DUMP button is pressed, only one segment is deleted. For example, if a unit is set to the full 80 seconds of delay buffer, and is set up to provide 8-second dumps, you'll have 10 separate dump segments at your disposal. Pressing the DUMP button the first time cuts out one 8-second segment, still leaving you with 72 seconds of delay protection. If this is followed by more trash-talk, just press the DUMP button again and you'll still have over a minute of delay protection. The "sneeze" button momentarily "edits" audio entering the delay, letting the host sneeze, cough, or make a short comment without being heard on air - and without dead air. Your station can't afford to work without a net. With the BD600+, you'll never have to be concerned about running out of delay memory.
For HD radio stations, this powerful device provides a high-quality subsample-adjustable delay that can be used for synchronizing analog and digital; the "holy grail" for maintaining a seamless user experience. MicroPrecision Delay can be adjusted while on-air, as well as ramped in and out for clean transitions with no audible artifacts.
And as if 80 seconds of delay protection weren't enough, it includes a secondary backup called PANIC. What this does is play a .WAV file that's already stored on a compact flash card. While the file - a jingle, ID, or other message - is being played, delay is being built-up in real time, letting programming continue in safety as soon as the jingle is over. This can also be implemented for painless entry into delay.
This device not only shows an exact digital readout of delay time, but additionally includes a "quick read" bar graph which instantly confirms "you're safe" at a glance. It's an 80-second stereo delay unit that comes equipped with analog XLR-type inputs and outputs, as well as AES/EBU digital audio inputs and outputs. All front panel switches (except "configure") can be remoted, as can the status indicators. RS-232 connection included; 4 configurable control inputs and 2 configurable relay-isolated control outputs are provided via an easy-to-wire Euroblock barrier strip.
