Product Overview
A versatile, phantom-powered, omnidirectional condenser boundary microphone, the U891RbO from Audio-Technica offers remarkable speech intelligibility and transparent sound quality in surface-mount applications and other demanding sound pickup situations. It features a touch-sensitive capacitive-type user switch that can be set to three modes: touch on/off, touch to talk, and touch to mute. Ideal for conference or boardrooms, it captures sound with its sophisticated 80 Hz low-cut UniSteep® filter for reduced pickup of low-frequency (LF) ambient noise, UniGuard® for radio frequency interference (RFI) protection, interchangeable elements with cardioid and hypercardioid polar patterns (these elements are sold separately), and a PivotPoint® rotating connector for easy cable management with no tools required. Durable and discreet, its heavy die-cast case and silicon foam bottom pads minimize surface vibration mic coupling, and houses self-contained electronics, which eliminate the need for an external power module — all in a low-profile design with threaded inserts for optional mounting and added security.
