The PortCaster R4D was made for podcasting on the go, with guests, anywhere. Podcast and live stream from wherever you are, whenever you want, with the warm analog sound and digital precision of the PortCaster.
A 4-channel mobile mixer, recorder, and USB audio interface about the size of a smartphone, PortCaster has studio-quality mic preamps with phantom power for using condenser microphones. Integrated dual analog optical limiters help you keep an eye on input levels to avoid peaking and distortion resulting in a more professional sound.
PortCaster has a built-in mix-minus feature for call-in guests that eliminates annoying feedback from being transmitted back to the caller. All you have to do is connect your phone, dial up your guest, and you too can have call-in guests, anywhere. And since all streaming is not created equal, PortCaster can output in mono with a twirl of the mono blend knob.
Monitoring is critical in the studio or the field, so the PortCaster is equipped with balanced outputs for powered speakers and a headphone out if you're listening in the field. And In the field can be serious with MixerFace, thanks to the 8-hour runtime rechargeable battery.
You can record your podcast to an SD (not included) card, your smartphone, or both at once. It's also possible to stream via smartphone while recording to an SD card (not included).
