Product Overview

DPA's reputation for crafting rugged microphones is legendary, and the 4661 is no exception. The 4661-OC-H-B03 is a heavy-duty black Omnidirectional microphone with a 3-pin Lemo cable termination and has been adjusted to operate at extreme SPL (Sound Pressure Levels). The higher SPL capability allows the microphone to handle up to 144 dB before clipping so feel free to mic the drum kit and guitar cabs with the 4661.

Extremely resistant to sweat and humidity thanks to a dual vent design, the 4661 is also equipped with a kevlar-reinforced cable and stainless steel housing built to withstand the rigors of everyday use in demanding applications.

Due to its small size, it exhibits an exceedingly accurate omnidirectional pattern and therefore does not need to be aimed directly at the sound source to achieve high-quality pickup. The 4661 comes with a pair of boost grids that can be used to shape the gain structure to the application. The soft boost is intended for use when the mic is mounted on the performer's head for a natural sound. When chest placement is required, the high boost grid is ideal as it boosts the frequencies around 12kHz. The grids can be removed and cleaned.
