Building on the legacy of the venerable JD-808, Roland created the JD-08, giving a nod to the past while adding a modern flair. A staple sound throughout the '90s and beyond, The JD-800's waveforms have been combined with modern advanced modeling to deliver an instrument to shape the future. Unparallelled hands-on sound design, expanded polyphony, a two-part poly sequencer, and more, just waiting for you.
The JD-08 includes 64 presets from the original hardware and perfectly recreates the four-tone structure, 108 waveforms, and unique two-part multi-effects that are at the core of the JD-800’s intricate, evolving sound. 256 memory locations allow you to tweak until you're satisfied and then tweak some more without losing previous inspiration.
An integrated USB-C audio/MIDI interface means you can play, record, and synchronize with all types of computer production software. Plus, standard MIDI I/O is included so you can hook up with other MIDI gear. The JD-08's sequencer can even be driven with vintage analog instruments thanks to an onboard external clock input.
The JD-08 is a road warrior by design. You can power it via USB bus, 4 x AA alkaline batteries (included), or 4 x AA Ni-MH rechargeables (sold separately). There's also a built-in speaker and headphone output for on-the-go monitoring.
While the JD-08 is stunning and formidable on its own, you can add a DK-01 Boutique Dock (sold separately) with three tilt positions or grab a K-25m Keyboard Unit (sold separately) to create a fully self-contained, portable instrument.
