The EQ-73 MKII employs a class-A circuit design reminiscent of the EQ section found in the classic 1073 module, albeit without the high pass filter. Notably, this iteration introduces additional frequencies and utilizes two inductors in the mid-frequency band, with the higher inductor value applied to the 160 Hz and 240 Hz frequencies to achieve an optimal response. This configuration yields a sound character characterized by warmth, punch, sweetness, and musicality, attributes that have graced countless recordings over the years, rendering it versatile across diverse sound sources and genres. This sonic essence is now remarkably affordable, democratizing access to its classic tonal qualities. The EQ-73 MKII features stepped frequency controls spanning from 20 Hz to 24 kHz, offering precise sound sculpting. The low and high frequency bands employ shelving curves, while the mid-frequency band adopts a bell-type response.
