In contrast to alternative diffusion filters, this particular filter minimizes flare and contrast loss, making it well-suited for subtle applications. It effectively reduces facial blemishes and wrinkles while gently smoothing textured backgrounds, all while preserving sharp focus. The 1/2 density provides more softening than the 1/4, but less than the 1.
