Rosewood offered a distinct, dark tone that quickly became synonymous with the TAMA brand. Crafted with a 7.5mm 15ply All Indian Rosewood Shell, the AW256 reissue delivers the same deep and powerful sound cherished by a generation of drummers. To ensure precise tuning and clarity, the drum features 10-hole Die-Cast Hoops, a hallmark of the Mastercraft snare drums, alongside a reproduction of the original snare side hoop with an enlarged snare wire window. TAMA's innovative Roller Action Strainer, known for its detailed control over snare buzz tone and sensitivity, has been faithfully replicated for this anniversary edition. The inclusion of the iconic One-Touch tone control system, praised for its simplicity and effectiveness in muffling adjustments, further enhances the snare drum's versatility.
