The Sonifex AVN-DIO10-12G offers a streamlined solution for integrating legacy 12G, 6G, 3G, HD, and SD-SDI equipment into a Dante audio network. Upgrading from the AVN-DIO10, this device supports simultaneous embedding and de-embedding of up to 64 audio channels.
It features dual Dante ports for primary and redundant connections, along with two BNC connectors for audio/video input and output. The unit handles sample rate conversion between Dante and SDI, distributes or synchronizes external clocks, and allows for overwriting or inserting into SDI audio groups. Control is facilitated through an intuitive web interface, and the integrated Audinate Dante chipsets support AES67, Dante Domain Manager, and mapping via Dante Controller. Power is supplied via PoE over EtherCON connections, eliminating the need for external power supplies.
Sonifex AVN-DIO10-12G Applications
- Embedding and De-Embedding
- The AVN-DIO10-12G de-embeds up to 64 audio channels from an SDI feed and routes them to channels 1 to 64 on the Dante network, as mapped via Dante Controller. Simultaneously, it re-embeds these 64 channels from Dante back onto the SDI output.
- Equipped with an integrated SDI generator, the unit enables embedding onto the SDI output without requiring an SDI input. Configuration is managed through the web UI, which also supports embedding Dante channels onto the SDI output per channel pair. Two operational modes are available: Insert Mode Enabled, which selectively overwrites existing SDI audio per channel pair, and Insert Mode Disabled, which clears incoming audio channels before allowing selective embedding.
- Test Tones
- The Test Tone mode outputs 1, 2, 3, and 4 kHz signals on channels 1 to 4, respectively, for any group where embedding is active. This feature allows for testing downstream SDI audio outputs without the need for Dante sources.
