Product Overview

Create more and carry less with the RX100 VII Shooting Grip Kit from Sony. Composed of the DSC-RX100M7 Compact Camera with the VCT-SGR1 Shooting Grip this puts ultra-compact 4K video1 performance in your hands, so you can focus on moving and creating content more freely. With a super-versatile 24-200mm2 zoom lens and an included remote shooting grip and bracket, it’s never been easier to bring your creative vision to life. This creator’s pocket powerhouse brings pro video performance to the creator on the move.

Step up and shoot anywhere with the RX100 VII. New Touch Tracking for movies gives you fast, easy autofocus that you can rely on, while Real-time Eye AF (human) ensures precise focus. Even when you're walking, image stabilization Active mode produces smooth 4K video and, with a tilting selfie screen and external mic input, both framing and audio are stress-free. The included VCT-SGR1 Shooting Grip features capture/zoom controls and easily integrates with the RX100 VII for ease of use and dynamic filming styles. The ergonomic design is comfortable for both left and right-handed use, and the pop-out legs convert it into a mini-tripod. Use the grip with the included bracket to attach a microphone (not included). Pair this kit with an optional mic such as Sony’s ECM-XYST1M for optimal audio performance.

Utilizing technologies that were previously available only in Sony’s acclaimed Alpha 9 full-frame mirrorless camera, the RX100 VII achieves new levels of performance in a compact camera, in both stills and movie shooting. The RX100 VII is powered by a newly developed 1.0-type stacked 20.1 MP Exmor RS CMOS image sensor and the latest generation BIONZ X image processor, which work together to deliver peak autofocus and speed performance that has never before been available in a compact camera. Flexibility of shooting is ensured by a ZEISS® Vario-Sonnar T* 24-200mm(8) F2.8-4.5 high magnification zoom lens, making the RX100 VII a versatile choice for all types of shooting scenarios and users, ranging from photo enthusiasts to professionals.

The fast, highly accurate autofocus can achieve a remarkable 0.02-sec. acquisition speed6, the world's fastest7, to capture fleeting moments with precision. A total of 357 focal-plane phase-detection AF points covering approx. 68% of the image area work in conjunction with 425 contrast-detection AF points and High-density AF Tracking Technology to follow even erratically moving subjects reliably. Real-time Eye AF detects subject's eyes and maintains focus as the subject moves, leaving you free to compose your shot. The subject's eyes are detected with half-press of the shutter, and it's possible to select either the left or right eye of the subject. It can be used in conjunction with Real-time Tracking, in which case the focus frame can seamlessly switch between the subject's face and eyes as the subject moves. Real-time Eye AF for Animals8 is also supported, helping to produce better pet portraits and wildlife shots.

RX100 VII records 4K movies1 internally with full pixel readout and no pixel binning, with oversampling for high image quality. Extended continuous video recording is also available. HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) compatibility enables HDR capture as well as the wide color space and dynamic range available using S-Log profiles provides for more creative freedom in post-production. Interval Shooting is now available within the camera, with AE tracking to reduce exposure variations. The resulting still images can be edited into a time-lapse movie on a PC. Your vlogs, movies, and other video content have never looked so smooth and clear.
