Pro Soloist, Cherry Audio's latest addition in their lineup of ultimate "what if?" virtual instruments, features a precision-crafted, circuit-modeled DSP design by award-winning developer Mark Barton. This virtual instrument not only emulates the iconic, preset-based monophonic analog icon released by ARP in 1972, but also expands its capabilities with full programmability, polyphony, splits and layers, a mod matrix, and integrated studio-quality effects. Barton has authentically reproduced the analog signal path and original presets, while Cherry Audio has enhanced the Pro Soloist with a dual-layer voicing architecture, 16 polyphonic voices per layer, and independent panning for rich stereo timbres and complex layered sounds. It supports split keyboard mode and simulates polyphonic aftertouch with a monophonic aftertouch controller for enhanced expressiveness. The distinctive three-panel interface offers Performance mode, where each original paddle preset is recreated with MIDI-mappable switches, and Edit mode, where the unique analog synthesis architecture parameters, including the fully-variable five parallel bandpass filter "Resonator Bank," are exposed for advanced sound design. Additionally, it includes an LFO, ADSR/AR envelopes, a "Super Wave" oscillator, and a powerful six-slot modulation matrix. The Arp/FX mode features a syncable arpeggiator and a range of studio-quality effects for distortion, phaser, flanger/chorus, echo, and reverb, making Pro Soloist much more than just a preset synth.
