Aquaalt is a unique lute with a steel bowl resonator, designed by Bart Hopkin. The lute’s bridge transmits string vibrations to the bowl, creating dynamic, watery resonances. It can be played by plucking, bowing, or sliding. We sampled it with close mics and direct line, capturing plucks, long and short bows, sul ponticello, and glisses. With up to 8x round robin and 6 velocity layers, it offers rich, evolving timbres. The library also includes custom FX presets and ambient sound designs for versatile creativity.
